The MARC program at NC A&T offers talented students underrepresented in the biomedical sciences an opportunity to improve their preparation for high-caliber graduate training at the PhD level. Students selected for the program should commit to the following:
  • Be a rising junior (sophomore at the time of applying)
  • Participate in Weekly Meetings
  • Jr. Year, take Bio 499 - Undergraduate Research course in the fall semester
  • Sr. Year, take Bio 468 - Biology, Technology & Ethics course in the fall semester
  • Participate in academic year research on-campus
  • Participate in two (2) off-campus summer research internships (1 internship is required the summer before the junior year to be eligible for the MARC program)
  • Serve as a Peer Mentor
  • Attend Seminars
  • Present at Local and National Meetings
  • Participate in a biannual performance review

Students who are interested in pursing health professions like Medicine e.g. MD, MD/PHD, PHARM-D, DDS, DVM or other professional degrees WILL NOT be selected for the program and should not apply.
