Whole-Genome Association Study of Silver Resistance Pathways

We investigate a variation in the genomic encoding for metabolic pathways through the use of the Integrated Microbial Genomes resource (IMG). Then cross-compared gene functions, genomes, and IMG-curated set of 908 cellular pathways. Then identified fully sequenced genomes of strains with a genotype of silver resistance based on the presence of the silE gene. Then found plant host silver sensitive group of strains without the silE genes. 908 IMG pathways and the strains were then compared for those that are over-represented or under-represented in silver resistance. A Monte Carlo resampling method, written in R-script, generate z-scores to quantify this comparison.
